1. Brief explanation of your Research Topic:
COVID-19 is a trending term and has a big impact on the “e-commerce” market. The Vietnamese E-commerce market has faced a drastic change due to the occurrence of a pandemic situation created by COVID-19. The country's economy got to slow down by 3% to 4% and has an overall effect in every sector (Vietnam, 2020). Due to the implementation of "lockdown" in various cities, the work process of the organizations on E-commerce changed suddenly results in a great imbalance on workflow. The communities get fully depended on the E-commerce sector for their daily essentials (Vietnam, 2020). The E-commerce sector also has to follow various norms imposed by the Vietnam government. It results in changing the policies on E-commerce organizations.

The process of the organization’s operations observed a great change due to the rise of COVID-19 situation. It has felled a great effect on the socio-economic conditions of the country. The organizations have to take the step of "employee layoff" for maintaining proper revenue growth.

2. What is your interest in the chosen Research Topic?
The topic has been chosen for the research because the keywords in the topic like COVID-19 and E-commerce is trending on the market. Various information can also be gathered from online sources like newspaper articles, journals on the respective field of E-commerce. The research on COVID-19 will help to give an idea to the entrepreneurs and business organizations related to the E-commerce sector. It will be conducted based on the case study of Vietnam and thus, other essential sectors can also be benefitted from the study. The researcher has analytical knowledge on the work operations of the E-commerce market as the researcher has acquired basic knowledge of leadership skills and its effect on revenue growth. The issue of "Employee layoff" will also be discussed as the growth of a particular sector of organization is dependent on employee strength and performance.

The research is based on the current topic according to the market trend and helps to shed light on various issues of the E-commerce sector. It is consisting of the following objectives:

  • To study the “socio-economic condition” of communities due to changing policies of the E-commerce sector in Vietnam.
  • To study the dependency rate of communities on the E-commerce market and its impact on market revenue.
  • To suggest ways for maintaining an equilibrium in the E-commerce market of Vietnam on the post-COVID-19 situation.
  • To modify the working operations on the Vietnam E-commerce market for preventing the further “Employee layoff”.
  • To study the research within the restricted time of eight months and derive an effective result.

Overview- The research paper has surveyed different journals related to social distancing and effect on the economy due to COVID-19. It has been observed that the COVID-19 has changed different operations on various sectors and thus, fell a great effect on the economy. The revenue growth has become a stagnant condition due to lockdown effect on the economy. The study has not limited its research to a particular country or organization as it has surveyed on a different piece of pieces of literature from various countries. The study has thus taken the themes and summarizes into four points that are related to the economy of the country.

The study shows that “self-treatment” helps in curing the employees and preventing the "economic vulnerabilities" on organizations. It will help in preventing the "employee layoff" in industrial sectors.

Article 1- The research paper has focussed on the policy change in different sectors of Vietnam due to rise in COVID-19 situation. The COVID-19 cases accelerated rapidly by the month of April results in lockdown on several provinces. Many of the essential sectors along with non-essential sectors got shut down due to the rise in cases (La, et al., 2020). The study shows that co-operative policies and help from private individuals have helped in improving the “socio-economic” condition of Vietnam.

The current study will focus on the “socio-economic” conditions particularly related to the E-commerce market of Vietnam. The e-commerce sector has a great impact on the "socio-economic" condition. The major livelihood in the present condition is depending on the E-commerce sector directly and indirectly. They can be consumers or employees related to a particular organization.

The paper has mainly focussed on the conditions of SME’s in “Thanh Hoa” province of Vietnam. It suggests that “tax indicating policy” must be implemented to relax taxes on SME’s and thus help in overcome the difficulty. It will support them in this pandemic situation and resumes their operations (Le, et al., 2020).  SME’s must be provided with “capital support” packages for improving their financial condition. The tax relaxation will be considered as the essential element for the growth of SME’s in “Thanh Hoa” province. 

The current study involves “revenue growth” of E-commerce market and thus, helps in increasing the country’s economy. The country’ s economy has faced a drastic fall by 4% in this pandemic situation. Thus, the research will help to suggest methods for increasing the revenue growth of E-commerce market. The study is solely stick to the costs and revenue related to the E-commerce market of Vietnam.

The existing article have focussed on “employee layoff” in this pandemic situation on Indonesian companies. The Indonesian companies have started “employee layoff” due to fall of productivity rate and economic rate on the organizations. The study has done a qualitative study on 7 employees belongs to top management and derive the results that suggests that they have not received their full salary. The sale of various companies belongs to essential sectors have observed a drastic downfall in this pandemic situation.

The current study will be focussed on “employee layoff” in e-commerce market of Vietnam. Vietnam have less cases than Indonesia but “employee layoff” rate is more or less same in both the countries. The study will suggest ways to increase the sale of the organizations without affecting the jibs of employees. It will help in improving the livelihood of communities related to the E-commerce market.

The existing pieces of literature have studied on various sectors affected by the COVID-19 situation but no research has been done particularly on the E-commerce market.

The existing literature shows a contrasting opinion with the current study as the existing papers have not solely studied on E-commerce market of Vietnam.
