ASSESSMENT TASK 2 – CASE STUDYM
1.Various ways of passing feedbacks ensure that the feedbacks passed are useful and productive:

Being positive and specific: It is necessary to give as much positive feedback as negative feedbacks are being given. The reward centers are stimulated in the brain through positive feedbacks which leaves the recipients open for taking new guidelines. On the other hand, the negative feedbacks tend to indicate there is an adjustment required to be made which activates threat response and defensiveness. Also, the feedback must be specific and to the point of accomplishing the tasks(Cashin et al., 2017).Thus, there is a need of putting the negative and positive feedbacks together and following it for coming up with a suggestive outcome or solution.

Being immediate and tough: Through getting caught in action the adult brain learns fast and best. If there is enough time taken to give feedback over something which needs immediate action, then there is a chance of taking a longer duration for the changes. So, to provide productive feedback, it is necessary to be provided frequently. Also, when some blunders and mistakes are being made, there must be a proper way of interrogation and seeking perspective on the situation aroused instead of pointing out the mistakes abruptly. This ensures that the feedbacks provided are useful and productive.

2.To improve the performance at work the following steps can be utilized by Lisa:
• The group must be regularly asked for critical feedback which is necessary for improving the performance. There shouldn’t be any competition of reaching the feedbacks provided rather the steps must be taken for improving the performance. The reaction to the feedback is critical, it is necessary for manager Lisa to remain calm and have a careful observation over the feedbacks provided by the staff instead of getting annoyed. If anger reactions are being received by the staff, then the result and impact might be negative as the staff would not be willing to give appropriate feedbacks the other time. Thus, there should be a positive reaction to every feedback being provided including the negative ones, and the necessary steps to tackle the same must be taken by the manager taking suggestions from the staff members.
• If the feedbacks are sometimes perceived as surprising it might be a matter of misperception and miscommunication, hence asking questions from the staff will provide a clear and strong picture. Being clearheaded for seeking queries and listening to specific suggestions will help the manager to understand the feedback’s scope and the various ways needed to take action for improvement. The manager must take enough time to digest the feedbacks which is difficult to take to respond constructively and efficiently. Thus, in order to seek feedback for improving the performances, there must be enough time taken to digest the negative feedbacks and further clarify the misconceptions which will assist in taking necessary steps for improvement.

Lisa can do the following with the feedbacks received:
• Listening to the feedback without interruption and trying to absorb more information rather than being defensive and focusing on self-response.
• There must be a good understanding of the feedbacks received and the manager must talk regarding the issues mentioned with the staff members.
• There need to be suggestions taken from the staffs for improving the performances meanwhile including the staffs in the planning of the same. This will make the staffs feel included and will effectively participate in resolving the issues.

3.The various ways through which Jane can find out more information regarding the standards of nursing practice and facilitating her ongoing professional development are:
• Thinking critically and analyzing the practices of nursing: The process of critical thinking is practical and practiced by the nurses for solving the difficulties of patients and the process of decision making for enhancing the effect with creativity. It is an important process for a skillful, efficient, and safe intervention of nursing.
• Engaging in the therapeutic relationship: It helps the nurse in building a relationship with the patient which is not personal but helps in understanding the problems being faced(Vaismoradi et al., 2020). This is done by introducing oneself to the patient and using the patient's name while talking. Further, it is necessary to make sure that the patients are provided with privacy while providing care and should be actively listened to.

• Develop a plan for the nursing practice: The plan of nursing must include all the information that is relevant for the diagnosis of the patient, the treatment goals, and the evaluation plans.

4.The factors that need to be considered while thinking of the type of workshop to attend are:
• Clear vision: There must a clear vision of where Jane wants to be and where Jane wants to do. There must be thoughtful consideration of the lengths of time, also there must be detailing of vision as much as possible.
• Understanding of the skills: The next step that is necessary to be considered while thinking of the workshop to attend is to determine the skills that Jane wants to develop and what is the importance of achieving the vision(Bindon, 2017). There must be surety of understanding whether the target is linked to the skills and vision or not.
• Understanding of the standard required to be achieved: The magnitude of the tasks is determined by understanding where an individual is and where they want to be. This further helps in determining the time that needs to be invested and the effort needed to be put in. Thus, all these factors must be considered while thinking of the kind of workshop needed to be attended for personal development.
