The University of Southern Queensland is located in the south of The Toowoomba city, in the Queensland state of northeastern Australia. The University started its journey as the Queensland Institute of Technology with just 140 students. Moving on to 1990, the institution was converted into the University College of Southern Queensland, aided by the University of Queensland. Thus, 1992 witnessed the USQ gain the status of a university under the name we are familiar with.
The University's main campus is located in Toowoomba, with two other satellite campuses located in Ipswich and Springfield. The University's main campus houses administrative buildings, academic and support facilities, green spaces, and parking spaces. The library is considered to be one of the most vastly stocked ones, with several printed and digital resources to choose from. The north side of the main campus entrance also houses the Gumbi Gumbi, a green patch with over 100 plant species sprawling over the land. The main campus also houses the Japanese garden.
